Now for directions. Just get toRobbinsville any way you can. Once in Robbinsville go to the light across from Ingles supermarket and Kerr Drug. You are 10 miles exactly to the cabin from here. Now go straight on Hwy 129 North towards Tennessee 1.4 miles out of town till you come to Hwy 143 on your left, here you will also see signs for Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, and Cheoah Ranger Station the local name for this road is Massey Branch. Go left, which is the only way here. Now stay on it till you come to the stop sign, about 3.3 miles up the road. You will come to Snowbird Rd it will also say West Hwy. 143 but this is Snowbird Road. Again you will see signs for Joyce Kilmer and Snowbird Lodge. You want to go RIGHT. Now about two miles up the road Snowbird goes left and thats where you want to turn. If you stay straight it turns in to Santeetlah Road and goes to the Cherohala Skyway, Joyce Kilmer and Lake Santeetlah. So go left. Now go exactly 2.0 Miles on Snowbird Road past Robinson's Grocery store and around a turn and down a hill. Stay to the right past the store. Once down the hill Snowbird makes a very hard left turn. It is well marked. Now go about 1/2 mile till you see a bridge crossing the creek on your left and the entrance to Riverview Estates the sign will say Riverview Road and there are a row of mail boxes there. This will be your first left turn past the hard left turn. Cross the bridge stay left we are the fifth house on the left. Just look for the log cabin with the red roof next to the white pines and the split rail fence in front. If your totally lost ask at the store. If you are using a GPS the address is 245 Riverview Drive Robbinsville NC 28771 Be aware GPS systems can put you on an old road when used around here. These directions are very accurate. |
