If you prefer lake fishing, its hard to beat Lake Santeetlah and Lake Fontana. Lake Santeetlah is minutes from the cabin. It is bountiful with Bass, Walleye, Catfish and Pan fish. 16 and over need a license, watch your limit it varies with species.
Hiking Joyce Kilmer is a must when you visit Graham County. The hike is very family friendly and has a two mile or one mile loop. Nobody ever comes away that is not impressed by this beautiful forest. Joyce Kilmer and Snowbird Back Country are minutes from the cabin.
The Applachian Trail cuts Graham County in half.
Santeetlah Lake Trail is a great day hike very close to the cabin.

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

“We had a GREAT time staying here. The cabin was better than we could of imagined, and one of our favorites we have stayed in thus far.”
The owners are very attentive, and made sure everything went perfect. We WILL be back in the future!
“Great cabin for relaxing and just getting away. The Big Snowbird Creek is beautiful and noisy and right off the deck, it has to be one of North Carolina's prettiest creeks.”
